Supervised Apartments
The supervised apartments have been designed to ensure a supportive environment that actively helps unaccompanied minors over the age of 16 to live and develop within a framework of protection and access to goods, services, and activities.
The aim is to provide accommodation in adequate, appropriately designed spaces, with quality services from specialized interdisciplinary and support staff.
The main objective of the Action is:
- To support residents in their gradual transition to independence
- A smooth transition to adulthood
Together in Sport
METAdrasi, in collaboration with the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), implemented the "Together in Sport" program during the period 2021-2022.
The project was co-funded by:
- The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees of Germany (BAMF)
- The European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)
The great success of the program, with more than 9,000 beneficiary children, refugees and non-refugees, led to the launch of the "Together in Sport – Phase II" action on 15.09.2023, in cooperation with municipalities in various regions of Greece.
The action is an educational sports and culture program, aiming at: - Promoting the physical and mental well-being of minors aged 7-17 and young adults aged 18-21
- Strengthening social cohesion
- Developing sports and cultural activities with the institutions of each city
- Including minors and young people with physical or intellectual disabilities
The program is based on the understanding that sports and cultural activities can create a favorable framework for improving the daily lives of minor and young adult refugees.
Please note that participation is free of charge.
The objectives of the project include: - The participation of minors and young adults in a sports program under the auspices of the Hellenic Olympic Committee
- Participation in cultural programs, in collaboration with distinguished cultural professionals
- The promotion of meaningful sports and cultural activities
- The inclusion of minors and young adults with disabilities
- Interaction with children and young people from the local community
- Highlighting values such as respect, team spirit, and intercultural acceptance
- Improving daily living conditions and strengthening physical and mental well-being
Guardianship of unaccompanied children
The action is implemented within the framework of the "National Guardianship System" and is funded by the "Greece Programme – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027".
It is implemented by a partnership scheme with:

- PRAKSIS as partner
The aim is to support the implementation of the institution of guardianship for unaccompanied minors in Greek territory, with the purpose of: - Ensuring the best interests of the children
- Safeguarding their rights
- Providing protection and support services
Services include: - Legal support and representation
- Safeguarding the best interests of the child
- Promoting family reunification
- Access to medical and pharmaceutical care
- Referrals for psychological support and counseling
- Finding suitable accommodation arrangements
- Access to formal and non-formal education
- Assistance with property and banking matters
- Support in the transition to adult life
Escorts for unaccompanied minors
With the aim of providing a permanent and safe solution to the problem of the prolonged stay of unaccompanied minors in police detention cells, METAdrasi created the first trained network in Greece of escorts for unaccompanied minors.
Services include:
- Pickup and escort during travel
- Handover at a safe predetermined location
- Transportation from point to point, from city to city, from island to mainland or another island
- Escort on flights
- Transfers between accommodation facilities
- Travel for reunification with a parent or relative
- Wherever else deemed necessary for housing purposes
Helios Junior
The action aims to facilitate the integration into Greek society of 2,000 former unaccompanied minors by providing personalized services and support for their smooth exit from previous accommodation facilities and their transition to independent living.

- Housing
- Integration services
- Financial support
Financial support includes: - A monthly cash allowance of 150 euros
- A prepaid card for 16 months
- Coverage of basic needs such as food, clothing, footwear, personal hygiene, telecommunications, transportation, and basic school and pharmaceutical expenses
The program "Grant to Legal Entity International Organization for Migration (IOM) Greece Mission for the implementation of the Helios Junior project" of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with co-funding from the European Union, in cooperation with experienced implementing partners, including METAdrasi.
